FILMI IS READY
TO ROLL INTO YEAR 4

With an exciting line up of films and some guests who have travelled
all the way from California and Vancouver, FILMI 2003 promises
to be the best year yet. "We have films from all across Canada,
California and even from Japan," said Mohit Rajhans, Co-Founder
of Filmi.
The festival this year opens tonight, Aug. 7th at The Royal Ontario
Museum with the Canadian Premiere of 'American Chai'. Tickets
for the event are selling at a great pace, and the energy people
are feeling towards the festival is felt in this city year after
year.
One of the continued highlights of FILMI, as always, is the fantastic
free screenings at Masala Mendhi Masti every year. Films can be
enjoyed all weekend long at York Quay Centre, Harbourfront where
this is truly something for everyone.
The entire cast from the film TRADE OFFS is
here from California for the world premiere of their film. Back
at the Art Gallery of Ontario on Sunday August 10, 2003. One of
the most highly anticipated films FILMI has ever presented; 3
Walls by Nagesh Kukunoor.
This film opened in the top five in India last week, leaving
some of its' Bollywood cousins behind. Critics are raving about
this film, calling it the 'best work yet' from Independent pioneer
Kukunoor.
