About the Film
Synopsis
A
mysterious and wise shopkeeper (David Carradine) uses an ancient
Indian trident and a healthy dose of Hindu spirituality to try
and help a young man (Aalok Mehta) discover the “inner strength”
to rescue his kidnapped wife.
The
Trident, one of the first films shot on the new 4K Digital
format, showcases rarely seen martial arts from the Indian sub-continent,
such as Kalaripayattu and Malla-Yudha. In addition to being a
short film that stands on its own, The Trident is a technical
showpiece for state-of-the-art 4K Digital technology and a proof-of-concept
for a feature film the filmmakers are preparing to produce.
