"The Shopkeeper" - When hearing the name, "David Carradine," many people think of his characters, Kwai Chang Caine, in the TV Series Kung Fu or Bill in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill films.

David's career as an artist did not begin on the stage, though some of his early career was on and off Broadway. His earliest work was as a sculptor and painter. David was also an accomplished composer, musician, musical performer and songwriter.

Aalok Mehta - Arjun Nair
Aalok Mehta

"Arjun Nair" - Aalok Sharad Mehta was born in Edison, New Jersey. He lived in Baroda, India for two years between the ages of 7 and 9. He peaks fluent Gujarathi. Aalok played tennis growing up in New Jersey. Along with his writer-director brother Anurag Mehta and the rest of his Cherry Hill East Tennis teammates, Aalok made history in the 90s by becoming All-round New Jersey State Champions in Tennis. He had a penchant for performing, mostly as a singer-songwriter throughout his high school years, singing in various bands and performing in talent shows. He went on to play tennis at TCNJ and then began a career as a musician. (sitar player,singer/songwriter) Aalok began acting professionally after he was approached by his brother to play the musician/lead of his debut film "American Chai". He began studying acting in Philadelphia at The Acting Studio and really began to further his training in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hills Playhouse where he is still an student.

"The Bandit" / "Jimmy the Tiger" - Anup Sugunan’s first acting project was landing a leading role the award-winning independent feature film, TRADE OFFS. He was featured as a special-ability extra on Peter Weir's MASTER AND COMMANDER: THE FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD starring Russell Crowe. His lead role in the powerful post-9/11 short film, NECESSARY ILLUSIONS (a nod to Noam Chomsky) won the Visionary Award at the Washington D.C. Independent Film Festival. He currently lives in Hollywood.

Anurag Mehta
writer/director - Anurag Mehta is best known for writing and directing AMERICAN CHAI – about an Indian-American college boy who pursues his rock & roll dreams. AMERICAN CHAI won the coveted AUDIENCE AWARD at the SLAMDANCE FILM FESTIVAL in Utah and the GEN ART FILM FESTIVAL in NYC.

In addition to being a hit on the festival circuit, AMERICAN CHAI enjoyed some success in its theatrical and home video runs. In 2002-03, the film was released in major U.S. markets, as well as India, England, Israel, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and East Africa.

In 2006, Anurag wrote the screenplay for THE REEF, a CGI-animated feature film featuring the voice talent of Freddie Prinze Jr., Evan Rachel Wood, and Rob Schneider.

Recently, in December of 2008, Anurag was picked by Downy and Gen Art as one of four emerging filmmakers to make a short film that inspires people to “feel more” as part of their brand awareness. Anurag’s film “What Goes Around” fulfilled the “feel more comforted” aspect of their brand. The film played on the People’s Choice Awards website where audiences voted for their favorite.

Harish Rao - producer - has over 15 years of production, and project management experience in Entertainment, Interactive and the Online Media Industries.At Fox Interactive, Mr. Rao launched domestic and international product release multiple 20th Century Fox brand video game properties for The Simpsons, The X-Files, Aliens vs. Predator and Buffy the Vampire Slayer with sales revenue in excess of $50 million worldwide. In 2006, along with Entrepreneur, Ash Kumra, Harish Rao co-founded DesiYou a South Asian community destination video portal website with a mission to be the largest provider of North American content.

 

 

Ash Kumra - producer - co-founder and chief executive officer of DesiYou, an Indian media network. DesiYou creates and distributes South Asian content to empower South Asians and culture enthusiasts abroad via www.desiyou.com and multiplatform distribution network. He is also the founder and chairman of Society Media Network; a media company focused on empowering influential Generation X and Y communities. Previously; Mr. Kumra performed business development and strategic marketing capacities for broadband video channel developer Broadcast ITV and online job board aggregator Go Jobs!
